New Year: New Beginnings

This is the best time of year to reflect on what’s been going on and what you would like to do differently.

I love this time of year.  A time for reflection, for change, for making plans.  This is the best time of year to reflect on what’s been going on and what you would like to do differently. It can be a very dynamic time with shifts and changes going on.  It feels like there is a lot of change and things are moving at high speed that can feel quite overwhelming.

I love change and believe that change is a good thing.  It’s a great time of year to get out a note pad and start writing down or drawing what your dreams are – without holding back – and getting clear about what you really want in the year ahead.  With this as a starting point, taking a few steps towards this will start you on the road to a new direction.

I find myself having a big clear out in our home around this time.  Discarding old things that are no longer wanted, clearing out wardrobes and drawers. Lightening the load.  Life mirrors our environment. It seems that a de-clutter in our personal space corresponds with a de-clutter in our mental space. Too much stuff holds us back and creates a lot of dust and stagnation and makes us feel ‘stuck’ somehow.

Get some bags together for a local charity, get to the recycling bins and get rid of the things you no longer need. It’s such a great feeling to travel lighter, give things away and realise that it’s not the stuff around us that makes us happy but rather the space inside.

So at this turn of year, I wish everyone a wonderful, peaceful, harmonious and gorgeous year ahead. May your dreams unfold and may life glide smoothly.

Happy New Year to one and all.
